Connect With the Classics: Walden In-Person
Join us for our next Connect With the Classics book club discussion of Henry David Thoreau's Walden. All are welcome—no prior book club or "classic" literature experience needed!
Walden blends natural history with philosophy, offering an insightful look at human solitude and our connection to the natural world. In its rejection of materialism and embracing of self-sufficiency, this book remains a highly regarded work of transcendentalism, environmentalism, and individual enlightenment.
Seating is limited, and we'll need at least three (3) registrations to hold the discussion, so we strongly encourage you to register. (You can always cancel if you won't be able to join us.) Copies of the book are available for checkout at the first-floor service desk. If you're looking for a different format, you can also check our catalog.
About Connect With the Classics
This is a monthly series of casual discussions about "classic" literature, defined very loosely. Discussions are open to all, whether you're an occasional reader or a serious book club fan.
