Dinos in the Tar Pit In-Person
Celebrate our Summer Reading Program, Unearth a Story, and get ready to dig into the past. Did you know there are museums dedicated to fossils found in tar pits? In this hands-on program, we’ll explore the science behind these sticky natural traps and how they preserved the story of ancient life for thousands of years.
Participants will investigate how tar pits work and why animals became trapped, then put their knowledge to the test with a fun, interactive challenge: If you were a dinosaur, could you escape a sticky situation?
