Meet Karall Heimann, the Eisenhower Tunnel's Woman Welder In-Person
For Maker March, join Karall Heimann as she shares her journey from making metal sculpture as a hobby to becoming the only woman welder to help build the Eisenhower-Johnson Memorial Tunnel. She'll talk about the job, as well as the experiences and conversations she had while doing it. She'll share what she learned from the experience and why it's important to tell her story. Bring your questions!
Seating is limited, so registration is strongly encouraged to help us plan space.
About Karall
A single mother who raised three sons on her own, Karall brings a lifetime of resilience, skill, and creativity to everything she does. A graduate of the Colorado School of Healing Arts, she spent 21 years as a massage therapist and medicine woman, including 12 years with a brick-and-mortar practice in Estes Park. Earlier in her career, she earned welding certifications at the Community College of Denver and worked on the Eisenhower-Johnson Memorial Tunnel. Also known as “YahYah”—a name given to her by her granddaughter—she is the founder and truffleteer behind Naomi’s Sprouted Seed Truffles, a Colorado cottage food business launched in 2021.
