Celebrate Colorado History with Mini-Weaving

Celebrate Colorado History with Mini-Weaving In-Person

Discover Colorado’s rich weaving heritage in this interactive Makerspace workshop that blends history, creativity, and modern technology.

Participants will explore the traditions of Indigenous, Hispanic, and pioneer weaving in Colorado—learning how textiles were crafted for everyday life, trade, and artistic expression. After a short presentation on the state’s weaving history, patrons will create their own miniature weaving using a laser-cut loom.

Participants will use simple weaving techniques to create a one-of-a-kind textile piece. This beginner-friendly program requires no prior weaving experience and highlights how traditional crafts can be reimagined with contemporary digital tools.
