The Artist's Way: A 12-Week Journey to a More Creative Life

The Artist's Way: A 12-Week Journey to a More Creative Life In-Person

NOTE: This program requires at least 8 participants and space is limited, so registration is required by Tuesday, September 2. See below for more details.

Everyone is creative. Register now for this 12-week workshop, facilitated by local practitioner Julie Abel, to discover--or recover--your creative self using The Artist's Way, the classic tool for anyone interested in living more creatively.

Since its first publication, The Artist's Way has inspired millions of readers to embark on a creative journey and find a deeper connection to process and purpose. Julia Cameron's novel approach guides readers in uncovering problem areas and pressure points that may be restricting their creative flow and offers techniques to free up any areas where they might be stuck, opening up opportunities for self-growth and self-discovery.

The program begins with Cameron’s most vital tools for creative recovery: "Morning Pages," a daily stream-of-consciousness writing ritual, and the "Artist Date," a dedicated block of time to nurture your inner artist. From there, she shares hundreds of exercises, activities, and prompts to help readers thoroughly explore each chapter. She also offers guidance on starting a “Creative Cluster” of fellow artists who will support you in your creative endeavors.

A revolutionary program for personal renewal, The Artist's Way will help get you back on track, rediscover your passions, and take the steps you need to change your life.

About the program

We'll meet every Tuesday from 5:15-6:15 PM in the Quiet Room at the Library to check in, learn from each other, and encourage each other. We'll need at least 8 participants to hold the program, and space is limited, so be sure to register by Tuesday, September 2. By registering you commit to attend the full 12-session workshop, but we'll provide options for folks who may be out of town for brief stretches. We'll make books available for checkout to all program participants. If you have questions, feel free to contact Adult Services Librarian Eric White at ewhite@estesvalleylibrary.org.
