Won't You Be My Neighbor: Mixed Media Wood Houses

Won't You Be My Neighbor: Mixed Media Wood Houses In-Person

Join us for an inspiring and creative workshop in the library’s Makerspace, where we’ll explore the theme "Won't You Be My Neighbor?" by building unique wooden mixed-media houses from found materials. This hands-on program encourages participants to use their imagination, resourcefulness, and craft skills to design and create a miniature house that represents their personal vision of community, home, or neighborhood.

In this session, patrons of all ages and skill levels will use a variety of materials, including scrap wood, fabric, beads, buttons, paint, wire, and other found objects. to build and decorate their own wooden house structure, incorporating mixed-media elements to add personality, texture, and storytelling to their creations. The houses can be as whimsical or as realistic as participants choose, with room for both artistic expression and a sense of home.

Materials will be provided, but feel free to bring any personal items or found objects you wish to incorporate into your project.
