Show & Tell for Grown-Ups: The Ride of Her Life In-Person
Show and tell isn't just for kids! In this fun and casual program, you're invited to bring something important to you that is connected to a theme or idea in our One Book One Valley title, The Ride of Her Life by Elizabeth Letts. Share its story: stories should be around two minutes in length, and there will be prizes (and bragging rights) for the top three sharers, as measured by audience enthusiasm. Bonus points for wearing ‘50’s or saddle tramp attire, or for bringing someone of a different generation! Our friends from the Estes Park Museum will kick things off with a few Estes Park memories from the 1950's.
Prefer to be an audience member? You can also join us to just listen.
Please register so that we can ensure adequate seating and time for show-and-tell-ing. Here are some themes from the book to get your wheels turning:
- The 1950’s
- Horses and horseback journeys
- Nights in jail cells
- Highways and maps
- Westerns
- Rodeos
- The kindness of strangers
(Please leave these things at home: livestock, atom bombs, Godzilla.)
