'Undivide Us' Film Screening and Discussion

'Undivide Us' Film Screening and Discussion In-Person

Note: This event will take place in the meeting room at the Estes Park Museum (200 4th St). Dinner will be provided.

Join the Estes Valley Library, Estes Valley Restorative Justice Partnership, KUNC, and Rocky Mountain PBS for a free screening of Undivide Us, followed by a community discussion. Undivide Us is a film that challenges the idea that citizens who disagree are not capable of civil conversation and demonstrates the truth that, even in our differences, the American experiment is still alive and well.

Dinner will be served at 5:30 pm; the film screening will start at 6:00 pm. Registration is strongly encouraged to ensure adequate food and seating.

Following the film there will be a community discussion led by Dr. Martín Carcasson, Director of the Colorado State University Center for Public Deliberation. It will focus on the ideas in the film: how division and polarization manifest in our lives, what we might change about how we relate to one another, what roles institutions (media, education, and/or government) can play, and what's at stake if we can't disagree while still respecting each other.

This program is made possible by Above the Noise, a statewide initiative led by Rocky Mountain Public Media in partnership with the Colorado Press Association, Colorado Media Project, and CSU. It brings together a local network of media outlets to create a stronger Colorado by deeply listening to the experiences of people who live here.
